About Redress Raleigh 2010

Redress Raleigh Designers 2010

BRITTANY ERB AND KATY ROBB

Brittany and Katy are using recycled old furniture fabrics, brocades, suedes and vinyls, to create our garments…. Their goal is to create new shapes and new lines for them to give this age group a more mature look while making them feel younger and more appealing. They plan to create better fitting clothing for these women with design elements, such as line and balance, that grab the attention of everyone they pass.”

Brittany and Katy also wanted to focus on the concept of cutting down on massive consumption. The clothes will still have a chic appeal and still be kind to the environment.

KIERA L. FLOOD

20 years old Junior at Meredith College is Fashion Merchandising and Design-Design Concentration major, and my minor is marketing. She discovered her interest in designing at the age of 12 when she began to develop my first collection of sketches Her mother taught her to hand stitch and hand sew things that needed mending and then I started cutting up and recreating my old clothes to make new ones. This is Kiera’s first experience with Redress Raleigh and what an exciting experience! Kiera states that “Fashion can come from anything around us with the right ideas and proper direction and execution.” Instead of throwing out things when they get old we can use them to make new items that can be useful to us. Kiera feels that it is her responsibility to use creativity to come up with new ways in which she can help protect the planet by being less wasteful and more environmentally conscious.
